Art History, delivered in your mailbox
Artemisia Gentileschi was a 17th-century Italian painter who was one of the gifted artists of the Baroque period. Despite producing masterworks that rivaled her male contemporaries, her name was buried while lesser painters were celebrated. She painted women as protagonists: powerful, fierce, and unafraid during a time when women were expected to be neither seen nor heard in the art world. The Artemisia Post takes her name as a promise: to bring the stories of women like her directly to your door, one handwritten letter and original painting at a time.
